Hunger in Haiti acts as one of the country’s largest ongoing problems. According to the World Food Programme, 1.32 million people are in Phase 3 Crisis, which means they are severely food insecure. Additionally, three million people are in Phase 2 Stress, which mean they are food insecure.
In 2010, after the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, founder Carline McGrue returned back to her native country to give aid to those suffering. After witnessing first hand the devastation of the natural disaster and the aftermath that led to an increase in orphans, poverty, and health issues she decided to take action and make as big as an impact as possible. Thus, Child of Haiti 7 was born.
The number 7 represents a spiritual, biblical number that better represents our mission.
Child of Haiti 7 will address the following needs of the children of Haiti:
The organization's mission is to provide an environment that will serve its students, ages 0-18, by addressing their educational, health & wellness, mental, cultural, artistic, and spiritual needs. Our students will have plentiful opportunities to cultivate their creativity, compassion, courage, and confidence to ultimately rise in excellence and prevail as Haiti’s leaders of tomorrow.
Overview of Mission Trips
About the Project
Prior to the making of these videos Child of Haiti 7 story and mission was only told by word of mouth. Cause Creatives project was to highlight what their mission trips entail and capture the impact of their work. The project was implemented on a low budget and produced in a short time, however they were able to generate funding for the next mission trip.
To capture the content for these videos, Cause Creatives sent Director Krystal Rose with the foundation to the country of Haiti. Even with the lack of budget for a camera crew, Krystal was able to capture visual insight to what Child of Haiti 7 does.
